He loved Hephaestus. There was nothing more to it. She was his best friend, his companion. She snuck back into the garden with ease and walked through its lush depths a woman with a mission. A haunting melody floated on the midnight air, guiding Hephaestus along with its hypnotic tune. She knew she would find him here at this hour, the voice was unmistakable proof. The sound didn’t rise in volume as she approached but she knew she was getting close by the gooseflesh that had arisen on her skin. His song was strangely melancholic tonight.

Love Like This, Chap 12 Hera left the ballroom by an opposite corridor that took her directly out into the garden and onto a small paved pathway that led straight to her gazebo that rested in the center of the forest. She walked along the tree covered path for about five minutes. The night air was clean and still except for the small breeze that gently rustled the tips of her hair and the sheer curtains that hung from the high window like openings of her gazebo. She took the three stairs up to the top platform in graceful stride before walking over to her vanity to remove her jewelry.Love Like This, Chap 12
